Men with a full social calendar looking for a cologne to help elevate their daily style will enjoy this attractive, modern offering. Versace Eros is impressively versatile and somehow finds a way to adapt to all seasons and times of day. Usage & Occasionīefore writing our Versace Eros cologne review, I put the scent through its paces, and it’s fair to say that it didn’t let me down. But Versace Eros is arguably his most successful creation to date. Born and raised in Grasse, hailed as the “center of the perfume universe,” Aurelien has an impressive list of famous fragrances to his name. They gravitate towards the fruity elements and sweet vanilla in the base.Īurelien Guichard is the French perfumer to credit for this striking men’s fragrance. I find women particularly appreciate this fragrance. From our experience, Versace Eros is pretty much a guaranteed compliment grabber. ![]() If asked to describe Versace Eros in a handful of words, I would say fresh, magnetic, and alluring. Key notes in the dry down are cedarwood, vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood, and vanilla. After an hour or so, the scent settles into its spicy, oriental-wood base. One thing is sure this is not a wallflower fragrance by any means.Īs the cologne dries down, it shifts gear, and middle notes of clary sage, geranium flower, and ambroxan reveal themselves. The top notes pack a punch and are immediately present. Versace Eros opens with a bright blend of invigorating mint oil, Italian lemon, and candied green apple. But despite all of that, I think that Very Irresistible is a very irrestible buy.No good Versace Eros review would be complete without a full breakdown of the scent’s notes. ![]() The lasting power is good, however it could be better. I can safely define this fragrance as being very sexy. ![]() The woodsy drydown with the now softened chocolate note is something to die for. The colour of the bottle tends to confuse me into thinking that I can smell a greeness in this fragrance, however when I sniff more closely I contradict that thought. The hazelnut and mint only add to its deliciousness, however the grapefruit in the opening gives this fragrance a bit of a zesty and fruity feel. They do say that bacon is a man's favourite smell, so why don't they produce more foody-smelling scents for men? I quite like chocolate on a man. It's like a gourmand fragrance for men, which is often hard to come by. Chocolate is really dominant in Very Irrestible for Men. The first thing I thought of when I tried this fragrance was that it was a masculine version of Angel by Thierry Mugler. I guess i am not a Very Irresistible guy. but around ten o´clock, i dont like it anymore. Probably many others would enjoy this, i admit, but i only like the first hour i am wearing it, when you know there is patchouli but is not all about it. I love pencil shavings, and i have a very high tolerance to caustic sawmill wood scents (which is not the case of Very Irresistible) but i find now the patchouli raspy and tiring. Then patchouli steps out, along with some pencil shavings. After a while, the enjoyable chocolate (and the mint) are sadly vanished. Patchouli is noticeable in the background, rich and luxurious. The nutty quality makes it specially yummy. And so, VI is a an adult, sophisticated gourmand at this stage. Very soon the mysterious accord takes over: whatever it is, mint chocolate or chocolate mint, it reminds to the english "after eight" sweets, which are candies, yes, but to be eaten when kids are off to bed, and taste adult and sophisticated. ![]() It starts as a fresh, green blast of citrus and mint, very cooling. I personally believe that it might be the accord "coffee/roasted-hazelnut/oily-sesame" what gives this unmistakable mouthwatering chocolate scent. In my research i found out coffee and sesame were also listed in other sites. Strangely enough, the notes list doesnt contain cocoa, although, again, the illusion of chocolate is very vivid. There is indeed a variety of a mint hybrid (Mentha x pipperita `Chocolate Mint´) that is curiously mint-chocolate scented, but i have no idea if that is the one that was used in here.
